Wilpattu (Adventure/ Safari)

Wilpattu is Sri Lanka’s largest and one of its oldest national parks, covering roughly 1,317 km² of dry lowland forest, scrub, and seasonally flooded “villus” (natural lakes). Situated on the northwest coast of Sri Lanka, about 30 km north of the port city of Puttalam and 185 km from Colombo. The main entrance is at “Kalpitiya Road,” with three additional gates at Kallanchiya, Parakrama, and Nabadawa. Wilpattu is famous for relatively high densities of Sri Lankan leopards.
